What is AI Access?

incomeWize lets you connect your saved retirement plan to AI assistants that support the Model Context Protocol (MCP).

MCP is an open standard that lets AI assistants use outside tools and data instead of relying only on what you type into the chat.

Once connected, paste your incomeWize saved-plan bookmark into your AI assistant and ask questions about your plan. Your assistant handles the conversation and reasoning; incomeWize runs the retirement calculations.

It's free, requires no incomeWize account, and cannot change your saved plan.

What you need

You need an incomeWize saved-plan bookmark.

New saved bookmarks automatically include an access key that authorizes your AI assistant with the incomeWize MCP server. If you saved your bookmark before AI Access was introduced, open your plan on incomewize.com and save it again to get a new bookmark with an access key.

Once connected, paste your incomeWize saved-plan bookmark into the chat.

Ask questions about your plan

You can ask questions naturally:

• Is my retirement plan on track?
• What if I retire two years earlier?
• What happens if we spend $10,000 more per year?
• What happens the year my spouse retires?
• When does my portfolio reach its lowest point?
• What Social Security claiming ages maximize our lifetime benefits?
• How does my plan change under Monte Carlo analysis?

Your AI assistant can ask follow-up questions and run additional scenarios as you explore your plan.

What AI Access can do

Through incomeWize, your AI assistant can:

• Analyze your saved plan using Straight-Line or Monte Carlo projections.
• Run what-if scenarios by changing one or more plan assumptions without modifying your saved plan.
• Compare scenarios against your original plan.
• Show year-by-year results for any range of years.
• Explore plan assumptions and identify the fields available for what-if analysis.
• Optimize Social Security timing by testing claiming ages and comparing lifetime benefits.

Plan Review

You can also use the Plan Review prompt for a guided review of your retirement plan.

It walks your AI assistant through your plan's:

• Retirement outlook
• Stress test
• Social Security timing
• Taxes
• Key risks
• Selected what-if scenarios

Instead of deciding what to ask, you can have your assistant work through the review for you.

Your saved plan stays read-only

AI Access can read and analyze your plan, but it cannot:

• Create a new plan
• Change your saved plan
• Save what-if changes back to your plan
• Access a plan unless you provide its bookmark

What-if scenarios exist only for the analysis being performed by your AI assistant.

Your bookmark is your access key

Your saved-plan bookmark contains the access key that lets your AI assistant use incomeWize's MCP server.

Treat your bookmark as a private link. Anyone you give it to may be able to access the plan associated with it.

Important: AI answers vs. incomeWize calculations

The calculations come from incomeWize. The explanation and interpretation come from your AI assistant.

Different AI assistants may interpret or explain the same results differently. For important decisions, verify the underlying numbers against your plan on incomewize.com.
